LMU Day of Giving Advocate Resources
Thank you for being part of our team by becoming an Advocate!
Advocates play a huge role in the success of the day, and we want to make sure you are equipped with everything you need.
Use the resources below to help demonstrate your LMU pride and spread the word about #LMUDayofGiving. Every post, text, or e-mail you share leading up to and on the day will contribute to our collective success.
There are three different types of Advocates this year. Please take a look below to see which type suits you and your interests best.
“Free-Agent” Advocates are general Advocates raising money for Day of Giving as a whole. They are not tied to one fund or area in particular, and want to spread the word and make it possible for their networks to give to the fund or area that interests them most.
“Peer-to-Peer” Advocates are passionate about one fund or area specifically, and their goal is to raise as much money as they can for their area of choice. Donors can choose to give to their area of choice AND other area(s) that are also of interest to the donor. Even if a donor chooses not to give to the Peer-to-Peer Advocate’s area of choice, spreading awareness about Day of Giving is still contributing to the overall success of the day! In order to be a Peer-to-Peer Advocate, their fund of choice must be one of the featured funds during Day of Giving.
Individual or Student Group Advocates are similar to Peer-to-Peer Advocates in that they are raising money for one fund or area specifically. The difference is their fund is not one of the featured funds on the Day of Giving page, and therefore a URL link leading donors directly to a donation form with their fund of choice prepopulated. This type of Advocate can have access to multiple URL links should they wish to raise money for multiple funds!
