The Center for Service and Action (CSA) is a central hub for service, justice and advocacy work at LMU. CSA supports Alternative Breaks, Service Organizations, Community Based Learning, Post Graduate Service, the LMU Food Pantry, civic engagement initiatives, and so much more.
Participating students develop a well-defined sense of self and confidence and learn to spearhead meaningful contributions in their own community. Recently LMU was recognized as the third best university in the United States for students engaged in community service. We are grateful to our students, our community partners and our donors that have worked so hard to make such a recognition possible.
For 20 years CSA has helped connect students to the world beyond the bluff in need of their curiosity and creativity. A gift to CSA helps us continue to provide time honored programs but it also helps us innovate and provide new programming that engages students in new ways.
"LMU didn’t just educate me, it formed me. Everything - from my career, to my friends to the ways I now parent my children - all lead back to the LMU education I received both in and out of the classroom. As the Associate Director of CSA, I have a front row seat to see donation dollars at work. Your contribution makes a real impact and allows us to continue to offer a diversity of programs that help students reflect and act upon the intersection of the needs of the world and the talents they have to address those needs. Take it from me, your contributions make a real difference not just in our students, but in the broader community our students engage in.”
